Matt Hubbard plays "back-alley beatnik blues" (Austin Chronicle) on his funky Hammond organ, honky-tonk piano, hobo harmonica and down-home trombone.
Matt has worked with legend Willie Nelson for many years, recording numerous albums and duets at Willie’s home studio in Luck, Texas including “Rainbow Connection” and “Run That By Me One More Time" both nominated for the Country Album of the Year Grammy. Matt plays keyboards, trombone and harmonica with jam band 7 Walkers featuring Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, Meters’ bassist George Porter Jr., guitarist Papa Mali and former bassist Reed Mathis. He has also worked with Wanda Jackson, Ray Price, Robert Hunter, Rickie Lee Jones, Greezy Wheels, Fastball, Jesse Dayton, Folk Uke, Golden D. Arkestra and many others. Matt now records and tours with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians while holding down a weekly Matt Hubbard Trio residency at C-Boy's Heart & Soul. (Live-streaming solo from home during the pandemic!)
Recorded in Austin, Texas "Live at C-Boy's" captures the band firing on all cylinders and features New Bohemians Brad Houser and John Bush on bass and percussion along with Robbie Kidd and Josh Perdue on drums and guitar.
