TREATY OAK BREWING & DISTILLING LAUNCHES BEER PROGRAM

Treaty Oak Brewing & Distilling has opened the doors at its craft brewery at 16604 Fitzhugh Road in Dripping Springs.

The company built its reputation on award-winning small batch craft spirits including Treaty Oak Rum, Treaty Oak Barrel Reserve Rum, Waterloo Gin, and more. However, the distillery, now 10 years old, relocated to a 27-acre ranch in September of 2015 giving it space to experiment with brewing. 

The beer program is debuting with three year-round brews including Bright Side Blonde Ale, Lil’ Hop Session IPA, and Fitzhugh Ale (a British mild). The well-balanced brews are 5% and under ABV. Experimentation will continue to create a variety of special and seasonal beers such as Saison, lager, maibock, stout, and porter.

Treaty Oak Brewing’s 30-barrel brew system is on track to brew 2,000 barrels (the equivalent of 27,500 cases of beer a year). To start, it is selling beer on tap on-site and at local bars and restaurants. Keep an eye out for tap takeover events, pint nights, and Treaty Oak Bourbon and Brew events at several Central Texas locations in the near future. The big brew system will also allow Chris Lamb, head distiller turned brew master, to eventually sell beer in cans throughout Texas beginning in March 2017. 

The ranch is open to the public for tours and tastings on Fridays from 3 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Dripping Springs is also home to Jester King Brewery, Argus Cidery, Deep Eddy’s Distillery, Twisted X Brewing Company, and Revolution Spirits, among others.
